Reno/ Tahoe wedding venues are host to thousands of destination weddings every year.

Couples from all over the United States, and even the world, come to create an unforgettable wedding day with Tahoe’s sparkling lake of nearly 200 square miles, a variety of natural scapes in pristine condition and grand mountains backdrops. Now, if the expense of your wedding is not issue, you of course have top pick of lake views and beach access for the entirety of your big day. But if your resources fall short of your vision I have a hidden gem for you. And no, it’s not a 10 gallon view of our incredible lake. And no, we won’t be trespassing on private property. It’s actually hidden in plain sight. By day this spot is an easy access golden sand beach with a tiki bar and the  buzz of beach goers and stand up paddle boards. By evening it's a magical cocktail party with string lights, thoughtfully arranged linens and a sunset that never disappoints. Night after night nature paints its beauty -- A sunset that bride and groom, guest and server alike, can hardly look away from. As the party continues beside this spectacular natural display, guests smile with fascination as they watch the wedding photographer pointing their lens towards the horizon. Aside from charming moments and beaming smiles, the dazzling views will be captured for a lifetime by your trusted Lake Tahoe professional wedding photographer.

Where is this you ask? Round Hill Pines - a premier Reno/Tahoe wedding venue on Lake Tahoe. A place I can always rely on for all the beach vibes and simultaneously reminisce my very own wedding memories.

Let's begin our photo tour with the ceremony and reception space at Round Hill Pines.

The ceremony location looks south west towards Mt. Tallac and Emerald Bay. In the morning the sun pierces through the lake water making colors of the lake and the western mountains most vibrant. In the afternoon and evenings the site is backlit, creating a glowing glamour look beatuifully framed by the round hill shoreline. Tell your guests to bring their sunglasses and sunscreen.

After booking the venue you'll need to find a location where you can relax and get ready with your wedding party. While there are plenty of lodging options nearby, my personal recommendation is to find a vacation home because they typically provide a space and a character that hotels typically fall short of.

Take a look at these images of the groom and groomsmen getting ready.

Ideally, the bride and bridesmaids would be at another location in close proximity. In this instance the ladies were a 2 min drive from the guys making an easy commute without leaving the neighborhood -- perfect. After photographing a few details, finshing touches with hair and makeup, it was time to get in the dress and have a first look with dad. Such a beatiful moment!

If you have a big guest count you may be limited by some venues. At Round Hill Pines you have the entire beach on the south side of the pier so they can roll the out chairs for days to fit your group.

After the ceremony we got straight into family and wedding party formal photos.

A beautiful location like this one is not void of difficulties to photograph.

The sun reflection can bounce off the water creating a visual equivalent to the camera sensor of two suns and a glare that will blind those with the darkest eyes. I, myself with blue eyes and fair skin, don't stand a chance to see much of what I'm photographing -- squinting so hard and peeking through my eyelashes, I press on.

It's not just difficult for me, personally, it's difficult for the camera.

Note to those considering saving money on a cheap or family friend photographer:

DON'T DO IT. Please, for your own good, hire a professional (pick me, pick me!) who understands what challenging conditions like this require. If you're planning a wedding on a beach in Lake Tahoe you should be able to see Lake Tahoe in your photos, right?

After formal photos, and a few minutes with the bride and groom, it was time for the grand entrance, dinner, and toasts!

After full bellies, good drinks, and lots of laughs, it was time to escape the party for a few sunset photos with the bride and groom.

Even though we missed the sunset with toasts going long, the light was beautiful and it was a perfect evening for a stroll on the pier. And it's not as if we missed the sunset altogether, we just got to enjoy it with family and friends -- the most beautiful backdrop to the most special words shared from loved ones.

The exact timing of when sunset photos happen during your reception depends on what month we're in. We'll have a plan, but also be flexible with the circumstances of the party.

As a photographer my job is to give you the best options and then adapt to all the variables and my clients wishes. Sometimes weather dictates the best time to go, othertimes it's the reception -- if all variables are flexible then I the photographer will make the final call. Ultimately, however, my goal is to not interfere with the natural flow of events and my client's time with their family and friends. In this instance, I communicated the options with the bride and groom before toasts started and allowed them to make the call.

After a quick snap shot with guests enjoying the sunset, it was time to cut the ribbon on the dance floor with the bride and groom, and party the night away.

I'm so honored to have had the opportunity to capturethis wedding at Round Hill Pines.

One of my favorite aspects of wedding photography is that I'm given access to capture some of the most bueatiful and precious moments in people's lives. It is truly an honor to be allowed 'behind the cutain', so to speak, to capture the love expressed by mom and dad, with bride and groom, between sisters, brothers, on the most anticipated day of their young lives. Outside of those words, I find myself falling short of expressing just how big these 'little' moments are.
