Lake Tahoe Elopement Photography; Jesse and Mike

When Mike and Jesse reached out to me to photograph their intimate elopement on Lake Tahoe in July I knew it would require something a little extra to get the privacy they wanted. With the 4th of July holiday, the celebrity golf tournament and a concert series, July is definitely the busiest month of the year in Tahoe. Beaches are packed and parking lots are full almost as early as they open.

Luckily, they were both up for an adventure and were willing and eager to do a litle extra work to make it special. They also had a few essential attributes I can summarize in 3 tips for the rest of us:

  • The early bird gets the worm. Or, in this case, plan your ceremony early and beat the crowd.

  • Plan your elopemnet mid-week. Weekends are insane.

  • Be young and agile to hike the steep trail down to the water. Okay, we can't all do this one but if you exercise regularly then you can forgo the young part. If you need a location more accessible there are still plenty of those to choose from; just not this one.

I had a great time with Mike and Jesse and I have to give them a lot of credit because we were in locations 90% of people can't or won't do. So thank you guys for your adventurous spirit and for following along when I say, "can you get on that rock?"
